50 days

  • 7 weeks and 1 day
  • 1 month and 20 days
  • 36 business days (Monday–Friday)
  • From Thursday, November 5, 2026 to Friday, December 25, 2026

How the count works

Worked example

Example: November 5, 2026 to December 25, 2026 (Christmas). Count the days left in the start month, add every full month in between, then add the day of the end month:

Total: 50 days, which is 7 weeks and 1 day. Counting both dates gives 51 days. The span contains 36 business days; taking out Veterans Day (November 11) and Thanksgiving Day (November 26) leaves 34 working days for US federal employees.

Leap years matter. January 1, 2028 to January 1, 2029 is 366 days because 2028 is a leap year; the same span a year later is 365 days.

Frequently asked questions

How many weeks are in a year?

A common year has 365 days, which is 52 weeks and 1 day. A leap year has 366 days: 52 weeks and 2 days.

How many days are between January 1 and December 31, 2026?

364 days, or 365 days if you count both January 1 and December 31.

How do I count days between dates in Excel or Google Sheets?

Subtract the dates: =B1-A1 gives the days from A1 to B1 (add 1 to count both dates). =NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1) counts Mondays to Fridays including both dates, and =DATEDIF(A1,B1,"m") gives the number of whole months.

Do time zones or daylight saving time change the result?

No. The calculator counts calendar dates, not hours, so the 23-hour and 25-hour days when clocks change still count as one day each.
